I downloaded the newest release, cleared out my cached and logged in for the first time in a few weeks. Now my avatar is invisable except for my hairpiece (how embarassing) and some jewlery I'm wearing. I tried logging off and back on again. This would be cool in RL but not here. HELP!

UPDATE: I can't see ANY avatars!

I did change video cards since I was last on (two+ weeks ago). I had an ATI X1600 and now have a VisionTek Radeon HD 2600 Pro w/256MB on AGP with the drives that came on the CD (Catalyst 7.6).

I just changed from a Radeon x1050 card to a Radeon HD 2600 Pro, hoping that I was "staying in family" and would have an improved rendering experience. Now I am having exactly the same issues! Also, the other colors in-world are not natural. I have downloaded the latest direct x and ATI drivers, with no improvement. Windows XP Home, fully updated.

I had the same issues.

There is an excellent Knowledgebase article. Do a search for "invisible avatar".

One fix was to Disable "Avatar Vertex Program" on the "Graphics Detail" screen under Preferences. THAT worked for me. Give it a try.

These are very popular cards and it looks like SL isn't 'decoding' it correctly.
