I'm sure some additional details will be needed to assist you by those who know.

any error messages popup when you try to start sl? if not, at what point does it crap out?

What are the specs on your machine? Video card type? Firewalled?

the more info given, the better chance of getting a right answer :)

You're right...

My PC:

Athlon 64 3000+
1 GB RAM
XFX geForce 6800gt
80gb HDD

The game doesn't load. When I double click the icon a small dialog box appears at the center of the screen for a second or two. It says "Loading Second Life" or something then it closes and that's it.

The game process is not running in the task manager either...

Hi, I don't know how to track down the problem you're having, but I've been running SL on Windows XPx64 for months now without any trouble.

I pretty much can't run anything else <grin> but SL has been fine!

Cheers,
Fairge

Does your window login contain a special character like áéíóú if so try creating a second login without any of these, log into that and the sl icon will be on that desktop.

That's exactly the problem!

My login name is Tomás... I changed it to Tomas and now it works!

Thank you
