Hi ~ looking to buy a laptop so i can play sl again!
could anyone please tell me if this one would work...
Toshiba Satellite A215-S4697 15.4"
operating system Windows Vista home premium
processor - AMD Turion 64 x 2
processor speed - 1.60 GHz
bus speed - 1600 mhz
level 2 cache - 2x 512 kb
RAM - 1 GB
hard drive speed - 5400 rpm
ATI Radeon X1200 graphics and 319MB of shared video memory—drawn from system memory.

thanks so much for your expertise Well.. SL doesn't run well with Vista first off, more memory would be advisable, a shared mem vid card will eat up even more memory, and ATI's track record is less then stellar with SL too.. I have a laptop with similar specs, it will run, but not really very well.. I suggest buying a regular computer if you plan to spend anytime in SL. |

Shared memory with vid card is bad, 1024 - 319 = 705 mb , wich is very low for a Vista to run on, vista+ati+sl+laptop is pretty horrible combination.
1 gig is below what id recommend for SL,
2 gig+ highly recommeneded
No i wouldnt recommend this laptop for SL, unless youre just chatting but that shared vid card will give you issues.
