I am unable to sign on and actually stay under my main SL account/name... It takes me home and it's completely dark ( the world is just black and nothing is visible)... yet, when I try to sign on via my alternate account/name there is no problem.

Could it possibly be the large inventory on my main name? Or what could be the problem?

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated ... thank you.

Probably not the inventory, but try the Clear Cache button in SL under Preferences->Network.

You might also log in from another location.
