Earlier this week, i updated the drivers to the video card that i've been running for the past couple of years - the nVidia GeForce FX 5900 with 128 meg of memory.

Before i updated the drivers, SL ran fine.

However, today- i am getting emails saying that items are being returned to me from my own land. So, i thought i'd log in and check on what's going on.

NOW - SL is telling me that i am running a generic card and that it may not run well, do i want to try anyway? Oh sure, i do. I click yes.

I next get an error that i am not running openGL and that SL requires it to run, and then SL closes entirely. I cannot get into the world. At all.

So. Updated drivers BROKE whatever this is. Any suggestions?

Furthermore, who is returning stuff to me from my own land!? Oh wait, that's an entirely different issue.

Thats a error im familiar with now, mine comes from when i install a enchanced driver to my vid card (a temp reading driver i need for my fan controll & Gamefacesomething prog i never use ( asus card )), had to uninstall that or SL would sometimes slap me in the face with "Generetic video card".

Try uninstalling the vid card drivers and go back to 77.77 driver (seems to be 5xxx fav one) , its easy to have files laying around even after you uninstalled so i recommend a driver cleaner.

:download new drivers
:uninstall
:drivercleaner
:restart
:reinstall with other drivers.

I'll add the note about the ASUS drivers to the Wiki.
