been dealing with the 2% loss the past week, but now this is getting nuts and it's steadily risingn the longer i'm in. I'm not the only one, a friend who's on a total different sim has the same thing and double the bandwidth as i do. Is this part of the updates that will be coming along to fix the update?

not sure what is up with all the packet loss. hopefully it will get corrected soon though. BTW my "unsupported cpu" is an Intel Core Duo processor. Go figure.

Heh. And here I thought it was just my 'net, before I came onto the forums and looked around.
Linden Lab is seemingly making Second Life worse and worse, and never fixing anything without introducing 40 new issues. If it's really that bad to fix up their code, the code wasn't well organized to start with, which is a major oops.
I would willingly go without the ability to use Second Life for a day or two if they could take it down, dig through it, and fix all these damn things. It would be better to go without it for a day or two, instead of having to live through all these constant bugs, sim crossings taking me three quarters way across the sim I'm crossing into (empty sim, I might add), my scripts taking four seconds to llSay on state_entry, and things simply not rezzing around me for a few minutes. I flew up to a bridge I was working on near Zephyr Heights, and it took nearly five minutes for me to see it on my screen. Textures are grey, everywhere. Whatever they did with textures did /not/ work in the slightest, unless you count backwards.
Before introducing new features, or capitalizing Online and Offline in the friends notifications, or before you make your fancy new wonderful blog have additional shiny buttons (thus breaking it, I assume), it would be WONDERFUL if you could simply manage to fix the problems that exist completely.
If I can't fly around and see my builds, and I can't hardly move, I don't really give a rat's ass if my friends notifications are capitalized.
...
Oh, wonderful. I alt tabbed back into SL, and it seems crossing the sim was fatal this time. I'm at 1480, 232, -23. Huhn, funny. This never happened before.
...
LL, I am not sure what you are planning on doing with SL, be it leaving it, selling it, closing it down, or keeping it forever yours, but whatever you do, you are going to start losing a reliable user base very quickly if this keeps happening. You can make up for the numbers by opening registration more, making it more attractive, but all that will give you is numbers. Alts, greifers, and nobodies.
It may be exactly what you want. An online community with you as the managers full of people that don't /do/ anything. If it is what you want, you're doing an excellent job moving through it.
I cannot build. My friends cannot build. Hell, we can hardly talk or IM. Our scritpts are not functioning properly. The simulators are not functioning properly.
*sigh*
I'm ranting, so I'll end it with the simple fact that this is why I will never invest real $ into SL in any way. I can't trust LL to not take it, turn around, mess up SL (more), and leave me with crap.
I feel sorry for all you who actually have paid money into it. Not that it's a bad thing, but LL is simply breaking the 'product' you paid for.

Really now, why don't you wait on the updates until you acctually finish them, instead of doing half in preview, and the rest on the main grid? The schedule? Sticking to it is not important if you cannot provide expected results while within it.
