Hi there. I was wondering what the best graphics card would be that is affordable and can keep the game under no lag or minimal lag...

Thanks..

Id recommend nv6600 cards, cheap, fast, very good for their price.

Nvidia is the brand to go with if you are upgrading especially for SL due to a better compatability with the game and OpenGL. ATI is better for just about anything else except SL and other OpernGL games like Doom3.

Keep in mind a video card isn't going to magically improve your experience with SL if you have a lackluster CPU and 256m memory. A 6800 Ultra on a 1.2 Celron E-machine is not going to help one bit and with the weak power supply, won't even run.

If you have a relatively modern machine with over 2gig on the CPU, the 6600GT is the card to get, hands down. The one I have overclocked way past 6800 speeds and is rock stable.

Give us your system specs and we can give you a better idea of what would be sane on your system.

I also have a 6800Ultra 512m on a 4400+ X2 CPU and 2 gig ram and I still get lag, not a lot but it does occur no matter what rig you have.
