it's 10pm est, is sl down?

Currently, it's 10:04 est. I've downloaded the update but now I can't log in. It says the system might be down.

Is this happening to everyone, anyone having this problem also?

I checked the blog as well as the other places and I don't see where it says game is down atm.
But what else did I expect. I mean today is Wednesday, update day. "Sigh!"

It's now 1:04 PM and since before 10PM last night I've been fussing with the game trying to find out how to login.
I un-installed the game completely, re-installed it. Re-installed the updates (which I know are the cause of this frustrating, time wasting thing) and still I can't login.

It says, "Unable to login, system may be down. try again later". Obviously it's not working. Some people were able to login although as can be seen here, others were having problems logging in also.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've contacted Linden but who knows when they'll answer.

You know? I just had a flashback. What they call it? Deja-vu? Yeah, seems like I've been thru' this same bs before or was it someone else I saw go thru' it?
This happens so much in sl that at times you think you've been thru' it before when in fact you haven't.

Tells you a whole lot about the game when you actually think it's you it's happened to before when it hasn't.....or has it? hmmmmm.

Well, finally after all this time I was able to login again.

I read in the knowledge base that when it said, "Verifying Protocl Versions" is probably had to do with a Firewall blocking the game. So I turned it off and Waalaaa!

The thing is, I already had turned off the Firewall last night, not once but twice and I couldn't log in then, yet, I could now. Go figure!

Anyway if you're having problems logging in and you get the message I wrote above trying doing what I did and hopefully you can come in sl also.
