ok, since the last patch I am able to log in, but everything is unresponsive....no chat, no avatar, no land showing....it's like limbo with out any communication. I've tried updating my video driver, reinstalling the client, contacted LL support, turned off antivirus and firewall....all to no avail. All I see is a horizon, blips showing on my mini map, and the "stand up" button. It's as if I'm not recieving any information from the client, and I can't even chat or pull up any information on search.
anyone have any idea what the problem could be and maybe offer a possible solution?

I'm having a similar problem, only I need to download the most recent version of SL (after not being on for awhile), but I'm getting a no-response error when I try the download. ????

well my problem isn't that the download is unresponsive, but the game itself...I'm able to DL the client just fine, and logging in "seems" to work fine, but after the downloading clothing window is when it gets unresponsive....the interface seems to work fine, but it's like communication between my end and the server is completly wacked, even though I can see avatar blips on my mini map. I've never seen anything like this before....it's really weird

I have the same problem now. I had it once before too, and the only thing that you have to do is to wait. There's maybe a technival problem, just check grid status in few minutes, we'll see.

ummm no, this has been over a week now, since the last patch...the problem still persists
