I just recently downloaded SL, and when i try to use the exe to load SL
i get an error that stops the loading everytime.
(newview.exe - Corrupt File
The file or directory \Documents and Settings\DEVIN\Application
Data\Secondlife\logs\Secondlife.log is corrupt and unreadable. Please
run the Chkdsk Utility.)
When i try to run checkdisk it says unable to fix due to not having "/f
Fix Problem" enabled, but it doesn't let me enable it.
I've also tryed to delete/reinstall SL 3 different times to no
success.
Please any information reguarding this would be beneficial.

This probably hints that you have some hard drive problems. The "/f" command is supposed to be added to the end of a DOS command line, but it's very important to NOT do so while Windows is running. If you aren't familiar with using a boot disk, it's best to skip CHKDSK altogether.
Instead, try opening the My Computer icon. Right-click your hard drive and choose Properties. In the Tools tab, select "Check Now..." under "This option will check the volume for errors."

I'm having the same problem

Hello. I am having the same problem with the newview.exe corrupt. The thing is though I was playing SL and then it crashed. When I tryed to log back in I got the corrupt message. I did run a chkdsk and reinstalled SL but am still getting the same message. When I uninstall SL does it wipe it completely or is it leaving things behind? If so how can I wipe it out completely to do a fresh install? I don't have any other problems in the computer. I don't think my hard drive is corrupt because every other program in my computer runs smoothly. Is there anything else it could be? Please help with any suggestions!! Thanks

Ok, I cleared the cache and temp folder and when I went to uninstall SL I got a message saying that A~NSISU_.exe is corrupt. After removing I restarted the computer and then downloaded the installer from the website. While I was installing SL I got a message saying that Second Life 1-5-14 Setup.exe is corrupt. It did install though. I tryed to log on and I got to he point where it says Entering Login Que. Then the crash logger popped up and sent information. I am still also getting newview.exe - Corrupt File. I wasn't having any problems with SL before last night. It was running fine. Does anyone have any info about my problem??
