Since Linden Labs obviously cannot support the traffic they get on the weekend, I think there should be queues to login.
Classic weekend symptoms:
1. Attempt to rez an object failed.
a) Retry
b) An object is already pending for that location.
2. Unable to move
3. Crash on login, movement, teleport, rez, chat.
4. Unable to login
5. Forum spam

Contingency plan! They have one! Cant say Ive heard that its been used yet.
