Problems with connection in the game

Bonjour J'ai un probleme avec SL, je ne peut pas me connecter sur le jeux.Il me met le message suivant :
Unable to connect to Second Life
Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong
Please check www.secondlife.com/status and the second life Announcements forum to see if there is a know problem with the service.

Est ce que c'est normal ?
Que puis je faire ? Est ce que c'est un probleme technique sur le jeux ou un bug de mon compte.

I joined up this morning. I have not been able to get into SL yet.
I get a message screen that says "your character will appear in a moment, press F1 for help at any time"
I waited a long time and still stuck at this screen.
When I click the close button or F1, I get the little hourglass icon.
As of right now, I have the hourglass icon and have not hit either f1 or close.

Then, when I shut it down and I log on again, it says it crashed last time. Do I need to reinstall? My computer meets all the rquirements. I am on a laptop with wi-fi using 802.11g, connected to my home wifi network. I am able to do all my other wifi stuff fine.

This time logging in, Ican see all the graphics clearly and the appearance gate.

Is there a way to dumb down the game so it may work better? Or should I reinstall?

You might try reinstalling SL..........but uninstall it first. SL has recurring and persistant log in problems but eventually they settle down. The message about "unexpected problems" is common.............just shut it down and retry in a minute or two. It sometimes takes several attempts. A reboot helps a little sometimes but I think that's more the time it takes to reboot more than anything.
