My HW spec is like this AMD 64 3500+ MSI Neo2Platinum motherboard -> nForce 3 chip Leadtek GeForce 6800GT 256MB 1 GB RAM Plenty of HD space
running WinXP SP2 non English version
I have updated all the drivers for the setup above but I cannot launch SL at all. I get a message saying launching SL but that immediately disappears and refuses to run any more.
Anything I can try to run SL at all on my system? I've got a laptop running SL ok on the same network.
I've also tried specifying the port for SL to run on the system thinking that this might solve the problem... it didn't...
So I need help plz...

I see you stated non-english xp...
this may not apply to you but on my BF's pc he had a special character as part of his computer name..his did the same thing as you are describing until he got rid of that character in his name.

Problem solved~

You were right... I sent an email to the support staff and they sent me an email with a similar advice. Here is what they had to say: The latest update cannot handle it if the "path" (C:\Documents and Settings\<user name> contains special signs, like å, ä, ö, ü, ñ etc. If you create another admin account on your computer, and install Second Life from this account, it should work fine. Or at least, you should be able to find the Second Life log files. When I created another account with alphabet characters only the problem was solved.
