Hey, I am having a problem where my system messages, such as friends notifications and such are turning up in white, when they should be showing as blue text in the history menu. This makes it hard for me to see these messages, and stuff....I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem? Also, for groups, whenever a message comes up where you would usually vote and such, that just shows up in blue in my chat history menu, instead of coming up as a menu. Is this really a glitch, or is my memory of blue friends notification text just some sort of brain tumor induced fake?

So is there anything else about this glitch? I have talked to people in game and it seems that way for them too...But I haven't been able to find any info on it.

my colors seem to be working fine now but the only problem i still have or should i say new problem is that no matter what color i make "objects text" the text always comes up as blank, but when i goto the history window and highlight the block of blank text, i can see it like you would see text if you highlighted a block of text in a word processor, thats the only way i can see the objects text, anyone know why this is?

Delete your settings.xml to fix the "invisible text" bug.

I am having the same problem. However it is not the "invisble Text" bug. Or at least with me deleting the setting.xml didn't fix the issue.

So will deleting the settings.xml file fix my problem as well?

C:\documents and settings\user name\secondlife\user_settings\settings.xml where "user name" is the account name you use when you first boot your computer. You will see a list of them under documents and settings. For a home system there are usually 4 folders under the documents and settings folder: admin, all users, youruseraccount, and default user. There can be more of course, but even if there is you should be able to tell from the list of folders which one is yours.

Deleting settings.xml only helps if you in fact encounter invisible chat text. It does not repair the issue that system text has the same color as normal chat text.

If you don't want to lose all your settings, you can go in and find the chat color settings inside that .xml file. Change the ",0" at the end of them to ",1", and you'll keep all your other settings while fixing the invisible chat problem.

Yes I deleted my settings.xml file and it did not make any difference to the system text. It still appears white like normal chat text.

I've heard of this problem on occasion and am looking for a firmer way to repro it so I can see my system text appear the same color as normal chat text too. If you know and a clean uninstall and reinstall hasn't solved it, please post here and let me know, I'm very interested in helping figure this out.

I'm sorry that I can't offer you a repro. I see it on Aditi, Siva and Main grid, just starting the client.

Update:

This bug has been fixed in the latest release 1.11.2(4)

Update update:

If you receive an inventory item from another person, the text "Xyz gave you Object" is still white.
