WTF!?!?! I've reinstalled already. I know the SL client caches heavily. I made some changes to SL graphics options and created a windows share. Other than that, SL is the only change so I'm blaming SL.
What's happening to my computer?!?! I simply can't keep reinstalling it.

pagefile.sys, aka win2k's swap file?, did you set a set size, or let windows manage it?

I checked. The paging file WAS set to 768 minimum...

But now every time I reboot Windows says I have NO paging file and creates a 20 MB hack job. The dialogues appear contradictory though. (see attachment) I'm not sure if the paging file is hosed and recreating at 20 MB or if the settings in the second dialogue. (The dialogue on top) are holding. The file on C: is 768 MB.
I had SL cach set to >= 512 MB RAM which I thought windows could manage. Guess not.
I've adjusted the SL cache to < 512 but so far, I'm still getting the error on reboot.
Are you having this issue as well? is anyone else?
After a year I've only this last week started getting back into SL and feel I have a lot to offer the community. However, I WILL turn tail and run from any app that hoses my install.
Thank you for your help.

Thanks. SL is neat. But for the most part, the community is neater.

Problem Solved
11-08-2005 07:37
This may have been my fault. The problem stems from the loss of the System accounts access to the C:\ drive. I reassigned the necessary permissions and everything is working again. Thank heavens for easy fixes.
Case closed.
