I'm looking at buying a laptop with the following graphics config :
ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 1100 256 Mo Shared Ram, out of 1024 base Ram
Does that work with SL or is it a dog ? I don't need a rocket, jst something to give me good enough rendering and a decent frame rate.
Best regards and thanks for any feedback you may have.

I was just looking at the same video card. The SL System Requirments do not seem to address laptops and video cards supported.

Probably not a good bet...

The previous generation of ATI integrated graphics (Radeon XPress 200M) doesn't work very well in Second Life. I haven't yet had the opportunity to test the 1100M, but I suspect it will also be a dog.
For best SL performance, you want a laptop with a separate graphics interface. Unfortunately, this means that your choices will start at US$1000 or so and go up from there; the bargain laptops all have integrated graphics. I have personally tried systems with NVidia 7400 and 7600, and ATI Radeon X1600; those all work well in SL. NVidia 7800 or 7900 will be faster still, but those only seem to be found in 8 pound and up desktop replacement behemoths that don't interest me.
