SL Just Sort Of.....Not Running

Scenario:

11:00 PM, a week ago. SL working fine, just fine.

1:00 PM the next day. SL not running at all.

And I didn't do anything or alter anything significant in between. And I haven't been able to get on since.

You know in the background during loading, you'll see what you last saw before you logged off? When SL comes up and BEGINS loading, I see a snapshot that is from over a month and a half ago. I'll hear the wind sound effect as the bar finishes loading.....then....nothing. SL crashes. Every single time. Then, 50% of the time as I send the error report, THAT will crash, too.

What could have possibly happened that causes it to crash here, if to my knowledge, I never changed anything significant, besides do my daily routine of forum browsing and random internet shenanigans?

do the SOP,

clear cache, if fail

uninstall SL, delete the folder in C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data, reinstall

if those fail come back

1. Open SL. At the splash screen, select Preferences. Go to the Network tab. Check the Clear Cache box. Hit OK, and then close SL.

2. Restart SL. Attempt login. If it fails:

3. If you use DSL, reboot your DSL modem. If you use a separate router, reboot that as well. Verify your upload and download speeds.

4. Run an updated antivirus and an updated anti-spyware program to ensure your computer is clean.

5. Verify that you have the most current video drivers for your graphics card.

6. Uninstall SL. Delete the folder in C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data. Download and reinstall SL on your computer.
