Minor Crash Problem - Windows Vista/ATI

Hi..

I have windows vista with an ATI 1650pro. I have installed the new drivers recently updated for ATI so I could run SL.

It seems to work well, but unfortunately whilst using SL the mouse just freezes in the middle of the screen. Everything is still active in SL and the programme is still running, it is just the mouse which stops working.

I have timed when this happens and sometimes it can be 20 minutes before it freezes, and other occassions it has just been 1 minute.

I then have to shut down or restart the computer using Control, Alt, Delete as the mouse is still frozen even if you exit SL.

I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem, or can offer any advice on how I could solve this issue.

Thanks.

Are you using some special mouse driver instead of basic windows driver? If so, then I would try to update it to latest possible version.

Hi Kitti, thanks for the quick response.

I had not thought about updating the mouse drivers, it is a wirelsess mouse so that could have some effect.

In the meantime I have re-installed the main ATI display drivers and it seems like that could of done the trick, i have logged back on to SL and been on a few hours without freezing up.

Maybe there was a minor clitch in the install process last time.

I'll see how it goes, but hopfully that is it!
