If your wife's account works fine then there is nothing appaerantly wrong with your machine. You aren't logging in as different users are you? I mean when you play SL do you log out of Windows and log back in as another user?

First thing I would try would be to go into preferences at SL startup and change your start location to the opposite of what it was set at ie if is set for home change it to last location or vice versa. If that has no affect then completely remove SL and then reinstall it.

The next thing to do is call tech support as there is likely something wrong with your account itself.

Thanks for responding! To answer your question 1st, Kathmandu, that's not the case - we use the same Windows account. I did change the setting in preferences, after logging in per instructions provided by Lee - no problems to report now. Thanks again!
