mashing home no longer works

In 1.5, you could repeatedly mash the home or f key to gain altitude above the 150m flight ceiling. The little boost you get when you start flying would pile up to allow you to gain altitude. Now, it seems like LL has removed this functionality. This means we have to attach jetpacks or wings or something to fly above the (pointlessly limiting) 150 meter flight ceiling.

Who here knew about the mashing-home trick, and who really wishes it still worked?

Unfortunately, there's not much to be done if we make changes (intentional or no) that remove an exploit.

Yeah, dude. You're complaining because they removed an exploit. That's like complaining because a bank installed security cameras, and you can't jack their money anymore. And you're complaining to the bank.

llSitTarget teleportation is an exploit, but I think a lot of people would be mad if it was suddenly removed. I considered this to be a convenient way to get around the seemingly pointless flight barrier.

"Exploit" generally implies that we were gaining something by its use. Well, something more than altitude. Is there a solid reason for the very low flight limit? Could this be rethought? I find it entirely likely that people are typically building higher than LL initially envisioned.

Does this mean Linden Lab intend on making attachments unable to move our avies above 150 meters too?
