Contact List and Avatars

I've been having a weird problem this morning.

First, my contact list is not loading. It simply shows two names with (waiting) next to them.

Second, the avatars are all messed up. Half of my face and one of my wings is gone, other avatars around me are missing parts of their body, and some are invisible.

Is this a client-side issue or something with connection?

Edit: The error resolved itself - but still I ask this in case it happens again.

Ive had this problem before, it can last a while.
always resolved it self after time.
