Receive Groups Notices option turned off, but get notices...

On several groups, I have the "Receive Group Notices" option unchecked indicating that I do not want to receive group notices, but I still get group notices for those groups (lots and lots of them).

Why is this? Am I doing something wrong? The group spam is killing me. I know I can just get out of the group, but is there a way to stay in the group turn the notices off for sure?

You shouldn't be getting group Notices if you have it checked out.
But you will still get the group IMs.
If you keep getting those blue drop down screens after clicking it off, try leaving the group and rejoining. If you mean the group IMs, then try Jira.
Hopefully will have group IM mute one day.
