It gets to Verifying protocal version and just stops. Then it tells me the system may be down, but according to the log in screen 33,350 people are logged on, so why can't I log in now? I didn't have any problems yesterday.

Same with me, but the automatic downloader didn't work...
So I downloaded the new client from SL.com and.....
2 installation errors ....
And can't find "server domain name" or something
edit: just to clarify, my firewall IS accepting the new exe

Whenever I update to a new version, my firewall for some reason likes to block it, I have to go into my firewall settings, and allow SL, then it will work fine, if it gets stuck on "Verifying protocol version" it is having a hard time accessing the internet in my past experiences. Hope this helps

Same here; the avatar I started out with I can log in with (but because of other issues SL doesn't fully rez and the character is frozen), the account I pay for I cannot log in to....what a scam.

Read the Linden Blog..there is a problem with some of the login servers. They are "Working" on it.

SL crashes before i can login

When starting i get the crash logger after 5 sec .... no login or anything else .... So it's not the login problem they are talking about. Because SL can't start at all
