I finally got off my butt, and decided to do some texture work of my own... I'm thinking "All right, let's do this."
Then, I get it done. So I upload it (happens to be a set of tats for my AV).
Image itself is mostly transparent, with a couple of things on it. Uploaded to SL, it's now got a white background, which causes it to noticable clash with the AV's skin (which is a pale, yet noticable, blue) when applied as an undershirt.
My issue is that SL took it upon itself to anti-transparent my texture for me...
Any help on how I can make it not do that, or am I out L$10 for the shirt texture, plus am never gonna be able to do it?

Make sure you're saving the transparent part to the alpha channel of a 32bit TGA file. JPG files do not support transparency (at least not in SL). If you happen to be using Paint Shop Pro, I can walk you through saving to alpha channel, though you'll need to find someone else for any other program.

Half-found the booger... and it was my fault... x.x
Didn't set the background to transparent...
Yes, I'm using Paint Shop Pro (v5.01)... and I am not sure how to get the transparency to work...
So, I'll be glad for any help.

When you upload a texture there is a preview of the image.
Transparent parts of the image are displayed in a distinctive manner, a gray and white checkerboard.
If you don't see that you should check your file again before uploading.
