I've already bug reported this problem, but I am curious to know if anyone else has noticed that the money() event just plain fails everyone once in awhile since the release of 1.6. It seems to have increased in the past few days, perhaps coinciding with the continuing asset server problems mentioned in the announcements forum.
Has anyone else seen this? I would like to find out if it only happens with objects that have multiple scripts or if it's across the board, and also verify that a problem really exists so LL gives this issue some sort of priority.
Or, LL if you have verified that this is a problem could we see a post that at least says you are aware of it? I wouldn't normally complain, but verifying and correcting slex deposit failures due to this problem is becoming more and more of an issue lately.

This has happened to me. I've gotten reports where people paid my games, but were not able to play. I've also paid a couple of other peoples games and in a few cases the game did not start.

Yes, I am seeing this problem too. It is out of hand, in my opinion. Coincidentally enough, I sent a support request to Linden Lab just about an hour ago, as the number of reports of this problem seems to be increasing day by day. It really started to get bad when 1.6 was rolled out.

It happened to me a couple of days ago too. The money I paid got to the owner but the money event was not triggered in the vendor and the goods were not transferred. Luckilly the owner was understanding and gave them to me personally. I know the source code of this particular vendor and the only way it could fail is if it never recieved a money event.

I've spoken with the QA folks; it appears they're already ahead of me and have a few leads.
As far as reproducability has concerned, has anyone tested that the money() state is actually failing? For example, place an llInstantMessage() within the money() state; if the IM fires, then money() is actually running and the problem lies elsewhere.
My suspicion is that the inventory transfer is where the problem lies, but I'm curious if anyone's debugged their script like this yet...

Yes Lee, if anyone at LL wants the script I can supply it.
The vendor was paid, it should have IMed the owner and the person that paid and then contacted a server to transfer inventory. Neither IM or the transfer happened. My conclusion was the money event was not received.
[edit: to say this was tested is not really true, what happened at the time is what is described above. It hasn't happened since ]

Yes the SL Exchange terminals fire an IM upon payment regardless of its operational mode for auditing purposes. When the failures occur I get no IM, yet the money shows up in the avatar's account and on the Transactions page. I then go to the terminal that failed and everything is working fine.

Thanks blaze. I keep posting with the wrong account because I am continually checking the transaction log on the other one just because of this issue.

I dont think it is simply the transfer of objects that fails. I've played some casino games where I paid, but the game does not start. I've had reports of the same thing happening on my games. In my code, I dont see any case where the user pays and the game does not either start or give the user his money back.
This does not happen all the time, although it has increased in frequency the last few days.

My experience is that the money event simply doesn't fire, but account transactions seem to happen. This only happens occationally, but one time is one time too much. I get reports of this almost every day, both from customers on my vending machines, and from gamblers on my casino games. They pay, I get money, but nothing happens. Definitely not good for my reputation, and I am forced to refund customers on every credible IM I get about it.

Prehaps LL should make an announcement on this topic to let people know to contact them regarding any money system failures...

It's at it again!
Had to refund 1600 to a blackjack player, with no way of knowing if he had actually been given cards. And 1000 to a customer that claims to have bought but not gotten any products. ARGH!

I had a single IM to email from a guy that had paid twice for the same item, but never recieved it. Item is copy/mod only, so no need to worry about any scamming on his part. So, I log into SL to drop the guy the item & refund, to find a screen full of similar IMs from customers AND a system message that my IMs have capped! This is very alarming. Now I am worried that my customers will think I am ignoring them about them not receiving their paid for items. I'm thinking maybe some signage at my shops is in order to let people know that they should keep trying to IM me, if a transaction fails. At least in my boxed item locations. I can track boxes and due to all mine being copy/mod only, scams are not an issue. My vendors do not record individual items, tho. So technically I could be scammed on same priced items. Anyone selling transferable items.. this has got to be a nightmare. Linden Labs seriously needs to consider making some sort of public broadcast of awareness regarding this issue. It has been ongoing and much worse, since the 1.6 release. Allowing this type of problem to persist, and especially go unacknowledged, is damning to their own credibility most of all!

I have had so many problems with money over the last couple of weeks that I stopped spending money altogether. I am probably not alone.

Hopefully, lowering the load on the database may also help alleviate the money problems.

this problem is only getting worse... I reported it a long time ago and still no answer.,.. Asri and I have sat on the phone with Lee Linden for over a half an hour trying to explain what the hell is going on, but he doesn't listen, he cuts off our sentences, and assumes or thinks something else... I am tired of all these problems, and I am sick and tired of dealing with Lee Linden... GET HIM OFF THE CONCIERGE!

I haven't had reports of this problem for at least a week now. Thanks to whoever/whatever fixed it.
