My RAM is currently 512mb, that's two slots of 256MB each. If I were to upgrade, what would be the best for SL? 2 GB? Will I notice much of a difference?

Thanks (again)

I had 512 and SL was almost unplayable. I added 2 GB and it made a world of differrence. It's probably the cheapest way to improve SL performance.

I agree.

It seems that SL likes to take up the best part of 1Gb on it's own. If you can afford 2 x 1Gb sticks of memory it is an excellent upgrade to any PC. XP machines love 2Gb and Vista pretty much demands it.

I doubt you'll ever regret adding memory.
