For the love of God, Satan, The NY Rangers, even L. Ron Hubbard...who the heck ever, please do something about the insta-crash on login or alt + arrow keys... PLEASE HELP FIX IT SO US VISTA USERS DON'T GET HOSED LIKE ARSEHATS TRYING AD NAUSEUM TO LOGIN...THIS IS MORE FRUSTRATING THAN HEARING GWB TALK ABOUT THE MERITS OR IRAQ OR HOW GREAT FLEX PRIMS ARE SO WHO CARES ABOUT CRASHING (yes I have heard that argument)... No matter the cause, just please help fix this ASAP...it's ruining businesses, general user participation and ultimately giving SL a bad rap across the board and that is and will become an ever increasing PR nightmare, this I promise from what I've been told, if VISTA works with SL the way Dick Cheany works with a shotgun on his friend's arse while hunting small game. Just help...please...Robin Linden, can you do you anything for us? Thanks! Love always, Calix

If you'll notice on the requirements page, Windows Vista is NOT supported by SecondLife. Hense, your issues.

Yea I saw that requirement too...though, hmm...Vista vs ATI vs Unix vs MAC OS, etc...

From: Loch Hax If you'll notice on the requirements page, Windows Vista is NOT supported by SecondLife. Hense, your issues. Neither are a lot of video cards and such and they work fine and yet many, many ATI video cards which are not only supported, but encouraged (at least in the 2 years Ive been here) don't work for squat...so I think the 'hence your issues' is sorta on the ball, but since Ive not had problems since I got vista on this comp months ago, nor have many others Ive spoken to that there might be something more to it. And you would think that SL would consider making pro-Vista product not only advantageous, but necessary to their future as a company. I am not sure how well MACs or Unix works in SL, but I have seen plenty on the forums about it and I feel for those people because I know that in the end the big fish eat the little ones and Microsoft and their new 'WOW' crap will eventually take over, for good, bad, or ugly. Meh.

I like to remind folks, it's not Linden Labs fault entirely- it's Microsoft. They changed SO much in the way Windows Vista handles code "under the hood" that alot of software is having problems dealing with it. With even the big guys like Nvidia, ATI & Creative having trouble coming out with working drivers, I'd expect a smaller company like Linden Labs to have even more trouble.
Hopefully MS will release a service pack to fix the problems. Till then, has everyone tried to use "compatibility mode"?? Not sure if Vista has it like XP does.

Grant it, vista is not what we would have like to see from an OS upgrade.... it would be to every ones best interest in finding solutions to the problems with comparability, be it MS, driver support, and small companies because as of the end of the year, Xp will no longer be supported! http://apcmag.com/5835/vendors_in_no_rush_to_ditch_xp_for_vista
