SL Website Borked?

Today, it took me ~five re-load attempts to display the SL login page.

http://secondlife.com/account/login.php and/or
https://secondlife.com/account/login.php

In either case, the page times out. After multiple page reload attempts, I finally see the login form fields. But then, I had to repeat the login attempt approx. 5-6 times before I was finally able to access the restricted areas of the site. In addition, components of the public sections of the site, including some images and perhaps the CSS file, were not loading properly.

Sounds like you may just need to HUP/re-start the Web server.

It's not just you, Paolo -- I thought something weird was up last night in the wee hours when I was trying to do some stuff along these lines and secondlife.com didn't come up, but lindenlab.com sure did, and so did FORUMS.secondlife.com -- how utterly weird. It seems to have resolved itself for the time bting but I just do hope there is not a more serious problem under the hood.

We usually run on two servers. At the moment one is offline for an OS (Sarge) update. Once that's done we'll get it back online and then update the second one. So there may be some intermittent log-in problems when the load is particularly heavy in the forums, but it's just temporary.
