i have a free account and this morning an email from linden told me that they were unable to bill my Second Life account on November 24, 2007.
So what's happened? I need to pay for my basic account ?! O_o

I have had exactly the same problem, billed for a premium account when all i have is a free basic one, the money wasnt in my account to pay for it as i didnt realise free meant $11.95 so now their threatening to close my account

I know at one point when I was looking at joining SL, that basic accounts had a three month limit or something to that nature on them. I guessed at that point that when that time was up they started billing. I may be completely off base here but maybe, just maybe (it is LL after all) a few accounts still have that built into them somehow and maybe your times up?
Either way I would be calling LL up asap to see whats on the go. If in fact you have basic accounts and nothing to warrant paying the monthly fee, your info shouldn't even be listed in the billing section lol
