In the last day or so, it's been taking forever to log in. (It may be since the 58716 FirstLook login-- not sure.)

I run Linux, and run from the command line. The debugging output gets to this:

From: someone

INFO: LLUserAuth::authenticate: uri=https://login.agni.lindenlab.com/cgi-bin/login.cgi

and sits there for up to minutes. Sometimes it dies with an error dialog box saying it couldn't connect. Sometimes, after 30 seconds or a few minutes, it finally connects.

What's up? Is anybody else having this problem?

YES!!

It does seem to be taking an awfully log time to get logged in over these last few days.

Running Linux client. Worked fine yesterday.

cant say much about linux, I am running on Windows XP home. But I uninstalled First Look 58716, reinstalled 58603. Login worked the first time I tried...
So 716 is crap or i am just a lucky guy.. :)

I'm still using the standard viewer, and getting the "Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong" message. Typical.

Login issues
03-04-2007 05:56
Well, the problem is definitely not restricted to the Linux client. The XP client does the same..

I managed to log in three times today at 2-3hr intervals. Both XP and Linux installations (mis)behave this way.

I am sure that server side issues, can be safely blamed.

unable to make connection

i don't think the problem has anything to with what operating system you have. I have windows vista and friend windows xp and since saturday night 11pm to sunday ( now ) still unable to login.
I just find it a shame it takes so long for linden to reply to support requests. Surely, they earn enough money to have employees 24 hours online for live help.

Seems to be something to do with the internet connection, I been able to login fine from Australia for the last few days, at the worst some slow loading of clothes & textures when numbers were over 30k

Apparently a couple of people removed an xfire update and got on ok afterwards too.

The can't logins compared to cans must share something in common?

I run standard viewer, XP, 20Mb ADSL, Dual Core Intel, 1Gb.

this afternoon I disconnected my router, and plugged modem into my pc without going through router first... eh voila login like usual.
Coincidence? probably... lol

For me, things have been a lot better since the "emergency downtime" yesterday.

Here's hoping that whatever was going on is fixed.
