Post details on how you connect, at what speed, and if through a router? If through a router, do you have all the necessary ports open?

I've seen that before during some harsh conditions, but I kept persisting in logging in and I finally made it. Right now is a time after a major update, so some things will settle down gradually.
Do you get this message every time you try to login? And BTW, don't be so hard on yourself. ![]() _____________________

Welcome to Second Life Kelly.
Don't confuse newness with stupidity - maybe not yet informed - if such a state exists. Close down SL and try relogging again, and let it sit until it either logs on or times out. _____________________

A router is a physical piece of hardware used to connect more than one computer to a single internet connection.

I guess I'm not going to be able to get on up here... I'm at college and the network is shared by everyone in my dorm...

Hey Kelly,
Go to your network IT guys with the info found here https://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Configuring+your+firewall+for+Second+Life+access and see if they won't help you get the ports needed for Secondlife to run. Good luck. _____________________

That shouldn't be a problem. That is a different kind of routing. I agree with the above posts.
