Hello, I am able to run SL perfectly on my desktop with no problems at all. However, on my laptop, most of the textures do not load on avatars. Also, the avatars are deformed, as if their bodies are twisted in certain sections.

Here is the laptop's specs:

Model: Gateway NX850X
Windows XP Professional SP2
Intel Pentium M Processor 750 (1.86GHz, 533MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache)
1024MB 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM
100GB 5400rpm Ultra ATA
ATI Radeon X700 128MB
17" Ultrabright WXGA TFT Active Matrix

I am able to run Battlefield 2 and HalfLife 2 on my laptop without any problems, so I thought it should be able to run SL. What is the problem here?

One of the most common problems is out-of-date video drivers.

For ATI laptops, good drivers can be found at http://www.omegadrivers.net.

I had a problem with SL crashing, went to omegadrivers.net, updated my ATI drives and that fixed my crashing problems. Thanks for the site.

The omega drivers were the solution to my problems too. Maybe this is worth going sticky as I read a lot of posts of people having problems with their graphic cards...

laptopvideo2go drivers

I prefer www.laptopvideo2go.com drivers over the omega's. Omega's couldnt get my ripple water working, laptopvideo2go did.
