Since I moved my old pc into another room it no longer runs SL (OK, the move may not be the issue, it has been 7 months since I actually tried to use it).
Despite reinstalling SL (yes, the latest version) when I try to enter I get the following message:
Unable to connect to server: Could not resolve domain name userserver.agni.lindenlabs.com Please check network connection.
Obviously this pc is online (see, I am using the net now!) MSN and everything else works OK. It is online using a wireless router connecter to my main PC. My main PC and my wireless laptop both run SL happily.
I have Norton, and have tried disabling that, though that has always been on here and never used to bother about SL.
Any ideas would be gratefully received, for moments like now where my main PC has died and my son has nicked my laptop for homework (inconsiderate little whelp, hehe).
Thanks

Right as the helpful message says its a network problem, are you sure you havent got Norton (I haven't got a clue about my pc) Firewall running or any other firewall software for that matter, if it IS running it will be blocking Second Life since the Executable has changed ( the update..)

Connection problems

It can be a few things, do you have XP Serivce Pack2? if so is the XP firewall blocking the connection? and do you have a router with firewall between your modem and computer? if so that might be the problem. Also there have been reports by people yesterday that had log on problems after the upgrade so maybe that is the problem.

Chek if you have a software firewall (Norton, Macafee, etc) that is blocking SL
Check if Windows XP SP2 has SL on its blocked list.
Check if you have a hardware firewall built into your router tha is blocking SL
