1) Lady used lap top from work, no problems at home with it.
2) Lady has brand new high powered lap top, and having problems.
3) Her problems are as follows:
When I got the new laptop and installed SL it ran beautifully the first time. The second time I opened SL the right side of the window was solid black, I had to resize to make it show the entire background and all the buttons to connect and I crash with animation. One click of my arrow key sends me running into walls and I crash. So I uninstalled and reinstalled SL ... same thing, when it opened, it window, the right side was black and I crash. So I did a complete system restore, installed SL and the first time I ran it ... it ran beautifully. Second time and ever since, I get the black on the right side of the window until I resize and I crash with animation and/or movement.

Another thing to note is that if I delete the SL folder from Application Data, the first time I run SL after that, the signon window opens correctly (full view without having to resize) … after the initial opening of SL, it reverts back to the same problem I was having before.

Hope some of you techies can help with this, thanks so much.

Check in preferences that you can use a non-standard resolution, that will then adopt your desktop/GC supported resolutions and not the native sl ones.

"window was solid black"

causes;
-Unsupported vid card
-Drivers not up to date (prob ati mobility)
-Multiple screen and not running in main

Pc specs would help, if youre on vista&ati you could easy run into issues especially on a laptop.
