My friend is having difficulty restoring her account on SL.

She registered last week and created a new account. She used to have another account on here, but decided to create a new ID. She was liable for the $9.95 second account fee, which she was happy to pay. She asked for payment to be taken from her PayPal account.

Cut to 7 days later... yesterday she tried to log in, but was told that her account had been disabled and she had to go to the website to renew her membership as there was a problem with payment.

She went to the site and tried to make a manual payment to restore her account by using her credit card and it didnt work. She depositied money into her PayPal account and that didnt work either. She used another card and it still refused to take payment.

It keeps saying that there is an error with taking payment and the overdue amount is $0.00.

She is in the UK as am I. I noticed before when trying to link my PayPal account to my SL account that SL doesnt like taking payment from a PayPal account unless there are funds ACTUALLY IN the account. This was the problem - it didnt want to take from her UK bank card which is linked to the PayPal account. So it refused payment and closed her SL account.

I asked Live Help on her behalf yesteday and they said to email SL. She emailed both billing@secondlife.com and the customer service email yesterday and has had no reply. She is really eager to play SL again but is having no luck trying to restore her account.

Any suggestions or can anyone help?

Thanks xxx

People in SL are on holliday right now, wont be much of a reply in awhile im afraid.

"The Linden Lab staff will be out of the office from Thursday, December 22 through Monday, December 26th. We won't be answering the phones in the office on those days; e-mail will however be reviewed and worked.

You may of course still contact our Liaison staff in-world.

If you do leave a voicemail message for our staff, please remember to provide your Second Life account name and a telephone number so that we may contact you.

Happy Holidays from Linden Lab!

I had the same thing happen to me. Just send them an email to billing, and they will fix it for you. They did it promptly for me :)
