Something seems to have happened to the Search time-out when you click on New Posts. I used to be able to browse all new posts before it would time out, but recently the time-out on the search has reduced so that by the time I get as far as, say, Page 4, the search has timed out, and I get a message saying "no results were found for your search".
The New Posts feature is incredibly useful. Please can we have the time-out increased back to a useful value? (say, at least 8 hours).

Gah! Yes please. I read the forums via this new posts feature all the time, and it is very rare that I can make it all the way to page 6-7 before hitting that timeout. Guess that'll teach me to try to work and read the forums at the same time I agree we need to bump this up. Never had this problem before the forum redesign.

PLEASE
I don't think the timeout has changed, it's just that the new version of vB handles the search results differently. The old one would make a new search request every time you went to the next page of results. You could tell because threads that were at the bottom of page 3 might show up at the top of page 4 if new threads wereadded on page one. Since this could move threads around such that you might miss them, they changed the search system so that it caches the results on the server at the moment you made the request. But they don't keep them forever, and THAT is the timeout that's screwing us.
I've taken to middle-clicking every thread I want to read from the search results so that it opens in its own tab, but I don't read them yet, I just keep middle-clicking topics. (I'm using the wonderful Firefox browser everyone is talking about.) Then when I've gone through all the result pages, I start at the last tab (oldest new thread) and start reading, closing tabs as I go.
If there was a search function that just went by time (all new posts within X days/hours) then this wouldn't be so bad.
