Help please! Getting spamed with messages

Hello,

a friend of mine (she cannot speak english) get spamed with chat text messages everywhere (all SIMs). Each minute the same message comes up (anything with cancelled sit). We don't know how to get rid of this. Maybe it is a script in the inventory, may a cache problem, whatever.

We have tried this:

-detached all items
-changed the SIMs
-reloged many times
-cleared the cache using the software SL (need help to make this manually)
-uninstalled and resinatlled the whole game

But there may is a problem with clearing the cache. After clearing the browser + web + disc cache ofter the SL Software, the Login Name is still present, so the cache clearing don't work really. Now we want to try to delete the cache manually (out of SecondLife) but the location cannot be found.

How do we get rid of this???

Sl install itself 2 places ,
deleting /clearing cache doesnt erase it all on windows;

You cant change this, except cache ,
but it will remain there even after a uninstall;
x:\Documents and Settings\yourlogin\Application Data\SecondLife
( this is where SL store all the user settings , login , logs, cache )

this one you can change on install;
x:\Program Files\SecondLife
( files SL use to start is here, web, font , skins, ect )


Anyhoo, tell her to start SL , click view menu & select mute list , whenever that spam get up, put the object name in there and mute it.

Sounds like a chair somewhere is spamming her with last avatar sat on it, and someone sit to a linked ball it will spam the last one on the other (or same) with that message.

And we cannot find the cache folder. How do we delete it manually?

Clearing your cache won't help with this. An object is IMing your friend because it was scripted poorly. Your friend should do this:

1. Go to preferences, under chat preferences, and check the "send offline IM to email" checkbox.
2. Log out.
3. Wait for one of these messages to show up in email.
4. Go to the SLURL that's provided with the message, which tells where the offending object is.
5. Look around for the object named "U A Relax Sit" and delete it.
6. (optional) go back and turn off the setting turned on in step 1.

I want to thank Sacha Bowie of live help for helping hunt down this evil bugged pose ball that had been haunting my sim. I know we have resolved this issue for a few. I think we took care of it totally. Please contact me if you have any other issues.
