Reporting abuse

I know this is not the way to post this, but the ingame "report" got stucked trying to find the player who was harassing me and insulting me ingame.

I tried to send the report but when i put his name in the abuse report just stayed in "searching mode".

I have taken snapshots of what happened and what was said. He said hi, i said hi and he started making insults and unwanted comments. He didn't even ask how old I am or anything. I don't even know this player.

After he finished with his insults he just left, I sent an IM asking who the hell he was to talk to me that way and he continued insulting me in the IM.

After this the game started acting strange, i couldn't see my own avatar, so i suspect he did something to mess my toon up ingame.

BTW, is there a way to post the snapshot here? because as i said i couldn't even send the abuse report ingame.

The forums aren't the proper way to report incidents though, and there is a rather strict policy against naming residents on here so it would be best if you edited the name out.

The problems you're describing with filing the abuse report (and the rest of it) sound like a problem with the sim you're on, so simply filing it from a different sim should work fine. You won't be able to add a screenshot along with the abuse report though.

Well, it is kind of messed up that the person reporting the problem would get in trouble for reporting the name of the player who is harassing and insulting..... That is kind of backwards. But thanks for the response and the info.

In general the rule is there so people don't just come to the forums to slander other residents (noone would know whether it's true or not). In your case there was no bad intent so I doubt it would even warrant a warning, but it's best not to leave it linger for a resmod to find .

Lindens also don't really read the forums so the AR would only just end up getting lost. Try and file the AR again and if you're still having problems you can post again here and hopefully get that part of it sorted out at least .

BTW, i think this was an old player and he knew what he was doing, because right after all the insults and unwanted comments I was pushed out of the area where i was, and then the problems started happening not being able to make the abuse report with the snapshoot. i did save snapshots in my computer, is there a way to send the snapshot that i saved with the new abuse report? BTW, i know the person who owns the place where this happened, so i did not invade anyone's place.

The reason being because all it is hearsay until it is investigated. There are always 2 sides to a story, and naming people can easily become unfounded accusation.
