I am sure this get a few peoples undergarments in a bind but this should be said.

Packet Loss is at an all time high when members logged in reaches over 20,000.... hummm...then we get database issues for a about 4 hours then after midnight all is almost calm. During these peak times many members are unable to do anything. I for one can be standing still doing nothing, not even breathing, and get packet loss at over 90%.

How do we resolve the database issues, the packet loss issues, and all the other issues with SL?

I find this very simple. A reasonable Corporation would cater to it's 'Premium' accounts. To do this the Linden Lab would have to cap the max amount of users online at any given time. Premium accounts would get priority to login, while all others would have to wait in line. Once the max has been reached then start bumping off other to let the Premium accounts login.

This solution has many different positives to it. So don't go blowing your circuits just yet. Premium Accounts pay a monthly fee so Linden Labs should give them more benefits. Premium Accounts generate a lot of revenue for Linden Labs to have better databases, better service, and a better environment for all. By giving preference to Premium accounts for login more people may switch over to a Premium account to get logged in easier. Thus more revenue for better equipment. As the equipment and software gets better and more stable then Linden Labs could push the Max of logins up a little.

OO Well.. just my thoughts on the matter... not that Linden Labs would listen to a small, of no importance, Premium account holder that sees nothing Premium about it. hummm... what am i paying for again??

It's a good idea, Luna, and one I and several others have begged for as well. The unfortunate fact is that right now, the Lab is far more interested in seeing that essentially meaningless 'Total Residents' statistic climb than in ensuring that any residents who actually log in have a positive user experience. (And really it IS meaningless. Nearly 3,000,000 residents but there's never been a time when even 1% of them are logged on at the same time?)

Everyone is suffering in one way or another- both old-time residents and oven-fresh newbies, both paying subscribers and those with free unverified accounts- but it really doesn't matter to those who make these decisions.

Like I said though, it's a great idea, and would make most of us paying subscribers happy.
