My monitor keeps on turning and flashing lines in a shade of pink. It's not opaque. Just really annoying. Could my monitor be going out? Graphics Card going kupooie? Or what?

It sounds like it's probably your video card overheating a little. Those kinds of artifacts are pretty common when your GPU or VRAM gets too hot.
The other possibility is that I'm misunderstanding you, and your monitor just isn't plugged in all the way.
When does it happen? How long has it been happening? When did you first notice it? What were you doing at the time?
What card do you have? Does it happen only when you're running SL, or will it happen when you've just booted up and are sitting at the desktop?

It happened last night for the first time. I wasn't running SL. I had thunderbird, firefox and msn messenger open. My computer had been on all day. I checked to see if it was plugged in all the way, I tried tightening it, but it seemed to be fin. I have a RADEON 9200SE.
If it is over heating, what do I do about that? Will it eventually kill it?

I had this problem with a broken vga cable - moving the cable solved the problem.
