since the new patch it got me thinking about the size that my SL window is. apparently it is 997x772. i would prefer something more standard as snapshots are of whats on the screen so an odd screen size makes for oddly sized snapshots. so poking around in my settings.ini file (on a mac ~/library/application support/secondlife/usersettings)
at the very bottom is

From: someone

WindowWidth 997
WindowX 682
WindowY 300

WindowWidth makes sense as the number i could change to set WindowWidth, however there is no corresponding WindowHeight, or setting in that file that matches the height of my SL window.

does anyone know where (or if) the setting is to manually change the SL window size (other than in the file menu in SL, i want something larger than 800x600)?

also im curious what WindowX and WindowY are.

In my settings.ini file, I have the following code at the end of the file:

CODE


   WindowHeight	768
     WindowWidth	1024
     WindowX	256
     WindowY	157

WindowX & WindowY are the location of the upper-left corner of the window.

very odd, i dont have WindowHeight... but adding it lets me set that. i wonder why it was missing in my settings.ini file.

Before reading this thread i asked in the hotline forum for some higher defaults to be added to the menu, i'll certainly be trying this little hack out, but i can see it getting overwritten on every patch now.

Edit: Works perfect, my window height was above the windowmaximised setting ie

WindowHeight 768
WindowMaximized FALSE
WindowWidth 1024
