I purchased a Basic Membership in June 2004, and I used the game for a while. For personal reasons I didn't use the game much after that until today when I felt like going back on. I decided it was time for my avatar to have a new look, but when I looked in my textures folder in my inventory, all my textures except for the ones I had uploaded and a few rock ones were gone! Apart from those, all were gone, as in, the ones which were originally in the texture folder, and I'm sure they were there before.
So, then I look in the library folder (above my inventory) and I find all the things which I had lost. Since I can't use them in building or changing my avatar, I decided to copy and paste them into my inventory. Eureka! It works! But then, later on, when I've logged off and then on again, the textures are no longer in my inventory!
Please, someone help me with this, it's really annoying! THere must be something that can be done!

They are still there. They have all been moved to the Library folder above your Inventory folder.

I know, but that's the problem. When I try to select a texture when I'm building something or chaning my avatar, they don't show up in the texture browser.

Copy them to your own texture folder. Select all of the ones you want to copy, right-click and select copy, goto your texture folder, right-click and select paste.
It's silly that the Library folder of textures isn't linked to the texture browser.

It's silly that the Library folder of textures isn't linked to the texture browser. I've tried that already, and now when I log in again after being offline, they're all gone and back in the texture library.

Uh, guys, he explained all that in his first post. Didn't you read it?
Dan, you're going to have to write support. They had some problems with the Library folder before the release of 1.5.6, I'm guessing that their "fix" introduced this bug.

Heh, thanks Molecular. Yeah, I did write to support before I realised that the library had everything, and I haven't had a reply yet. I think I might write again with an update of my problem. I really need this sorted out, it's quite annoying as you might imagine.

Yes, keep them updated so you don't get a repeat of this thread.

From: Hank Ramos It's silly that the Library folder of textures isn't linked to the texture browser. I'm happy that it isn't. Until the Texture Browser includes a thumb of each texture, in a folders/tree type setup, I like the ability to limit the list of textures. For instance, dragging a set of textures from my TEXTURES STORAGE folder and into the main TEXTURES folder so that I only have to scroll through a limited list. Then back to the TEXTURES STORAGE folder when I'm done with that set.

From: Dan Marten ... and I haven't had a reply yet. Oh, no worries, here's a preview of their reply to help you out: " Have you defragmented your disk?"

From: DoteDote Edison Until the Texture Browser includes a thumb of each texture That's a seriously good idea. It got me thinking though ... can't a texture browser with thumbnails be created locally? After all, the textures are present locally somewhere and at some level, even if it's just in the cache.
