I have a pic of me as a hippo tiny I tried to get for my forum icon, and I couldn't make it small enough no matter what I tried.

How does one do this?

open the pic in photoshop, or another similar program. resize it to 50 x 50 pixels. if you post the pic i can do it. should take only a few seconds.

"The maximum size of your custom image is 50 by 50 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller)."

Your paint program - Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, the Gimp, Photopaint, or whatever - should have a command to resize an image. You would crop the image first, then use the resize command to recalculate the drawing as a 50 by 50 pixel image, assuming you cropped the original to a square.

The name of the resize command will vary from program to program.

You may find that 50 by 50 pixels is not enough room to suit you, I found it to be quite limiting.

I dont know is she is talking about the same thing, but I have found lots of times the thing just fails. i.e. - it gives you that error message about size sometimes even if it *is* 50 x 50 and under the size limit.

The only solution I have found for that is just trying again the next day (its just one of the many forum glitches).

On the other hand roughly half of the forum features do not work for me since I am using Safari on a Mac and not MS Exploiter, so maybe that is just my experience. :)

Coco, I tried to upload a new forum icon about eight months ago, and it failed, leaving me with no icon at all. I've tried try every few weeks since, but haven't had any luck. I even tried uploading Torely's icon :D. I did post a question at technical support, but I haven't heard anything back.

So now I'm pretending I have no icon on purpose. "Arragh, forum icons are so last year!"

Cheers,
Fairge
