I just bought a e-GeForce 7950 GT KO 512MB graphics card. Fry's is having a great sale on them btw. http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=512-P2-N635-AR&family=22 I'm trying to decide between the following two motherboards: ABIT Fatality AN9 32X http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/products.php?categories=1&model=322 or, ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe/Wireless Edition http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=0&model=1163&modelmenu=1 Does anyone have any suggestions as to which might be the better choice to go with considering the card? Thanks, Angel

This one would so crash with my vid card -.- /point at pipeline ribs right next to pcie Either card is fine tho, id go Asus or Abit usually to, last one i had was a Asus but it died, faulty/crud heatpipe so warranty. I tend to look at where power is going cause of my case is a cube and power12v's dont go very far, not to mention i dont like them laying over fans -.-

I hadn't considered the location of the heat pipe in relation to the pcie card slot. I think there is one black and one blue slot so that the only time I would likely ever put the vid card in the blue slot would be if I could actually manage to convince myself to spend another $300+ on a second video card. *chuckles* And, putting it next to the heat pipe like you said, doesn't seem like a good option even for a second video card.
Thanks for the input. I'm just excited about building my new machine!

I have nVidia 7950 GX 1 Gb with the Asus wireless motherboard you mentioned and I just love it. The wireless connection worked really well after I got it up and running so I could download all my updated drivers and patches right away.
Have fun building your machine, I loved building mine.

I have an ASUS m/b with heatpipe and a 7600GT video card with Zalman fan. The heatpipe doesn't get in the way or affect anything at all. The big thing with the heatpipe is that it may not work well if you overclock. I don't o/c and went with the heatpipe because I wanted a quiet m/b. My PC is stable and quiet, so I'm happy with it.

Sounds like the ASUS m/b might be a winner

I don't have a need for a wireless connection currently, but the M2N32 SLI Deluxe seemed to be the best ASUS m/b available that would work with my graphics card and give me the best SL performance I could afford. This will be my first pc build, Dnali. I'm getting help from an old... errr... experienced pro. (He's reading my response!) I'm glad to hear you've found the heat pipe isn't a problem, Flash. I'm not fond of noisy machines. Even though the card I have supposedly is built for super clocking, I'm likely not going to take advantage of the function. I simply couldn't pass up such a great bargain! Thanks again for the responses. It helps to hear other people's experiences. angel
