Hi,
Is it possible to install/run 2nd life on a USB device (i.e. use in another PC - e.g. go to internet cafe, plug in USB, and run executable from there)?
Tks

Wow, that's a really good question. I have no idea but I'd like to know. Oh wait, the installer has to create a cache on the computer's hard drive so likely not.

but even 1GB USB flash cards are quite inexpensive these days (perhaps even larger), so this shouldn't be a problem in itself

I don't see why it won't work (unless there's necessary registry entries or system files the installer makes), the client will create the cache when it's run. So if you're at a café it'd be polite to delete it after you're finished.
I expect you'll run into more problems with security settings on the computers in the cafés than you will with using a flash drive. It'll only take a couple of minutes to actually try it - I suggest you do.
