90% of the time when I exit SL I get this message:
I have tried re-installing and also sent several crash reports. Only happens at SL shutdown, and just since the new release 1.5.7

That's gonna be a tough one. I have seen the same error with different memory locations given many times on many different programs.
Chances are that it will eventually go away and you will never find out what other application was clashing with it. But if you want to try some things ...
You could start by making sure nothing else is running; antivirus, antispam, acrobat, etc. And then go in and exit the program see if you are still having the problem. If not, turn one on and try again. Continue the process until you reproduce the problem.
Clean your Internet Explorer cache / Temp files / etc. Use the disk cleanup utility in the system tools folder for that.
Do a defrag.
Sorry I could not give you something specific.

I am getting a similar error as well since installing SL. Maybe it will be resolved in an upcoming update.
Now that I am reasonably sure that this is caused by SL, I will start reporting it as a bug. Perhaps they are just trying to write to a memory address that doesn't exist?

I haven't had that problem in Second Life but once, I used to get it all the time in another game.
It won't "go away", but it doesn't seem to be causing any real problems either. It's either a bug in Windows or a bug in the program, but it seems to be non-fatal.
