I'm sure you guys get this topic all the time, so let me apologize in advance for most likely going over oft-treaded ground.
I have a pretty good laptop: AMD Turion64 X2 TL-56 CPU ATI Radeon x1200 Integrated GPU 2 Gigs of RAM
I'm running Vista Home Premium.
It's weird that I'm having such issues with SecondLife, because I can run Oblivion and Half Life 2 and get decent FPS, but with SecondLife, I'm lucky to break into the double digits; usually it's 5 FPS or less.

I get an average of 5-15 fps...all the time. It can't be worse than that.
I won't tell you what's under the hood...it really wouldn't matter. I think SL just eats the hell out of our 1's and 0's.

From: Cyan Nicholls SecondLife theres your problem right there SL is not known for its blistering rendering speeds, with your system tho it should be getting more, just not HL2 more , just FYI also to be helpful update every driver you can, even your printer driver ... probally wont do much there but why not just on my old machine updating the chipset drivers gained me another 10 fps (for those counting thats now 45 fps on land and ive not broken my 116 fps marker way up in the sky yet)
