Hellow! I have the following configuration of computer: Amd Athlon X2-4800+, 2 GB of Ram and 512 mb Geforce 7900 GTX. I used as it is said /111/9c/141803/1.html here WinLauncherXP 2.0.5 Beta to turn off one core and also i installed a patch from amd before... But it didn't helped...
I almost turned off all avaliable graphic options and in the best way i get 27 fps.... But when i starting moving am getting a 15-17 fps.... It is not possible to play normaly... Please helped me!!

Have you read the stickies? Your X2 is a dual-core processor.

Dmitry, my configuration is similar to yours, and 15-17fps is just fine. I don't think you will get much better fps rates when you are active. I get about 30fps, but only when watching the sea and the sky ;-) The problem is that SL is based on OpenGL, a graphic system that is just going south. Just for info: Microsoft had actually planned to not support OpenGL at all anymore (in Vista), but they changed their mind just before the first release of Vista. As long as SL won't switch to DirectX, we won't see better performance because the manufacturers of graphic cards don't spend a lot of time and effort to optimize their OpenGL drivers. That's why there is a large list of not compatible graphic cards: Their implementation of OpenGL is not up-to-date, or faulty, and nobody except SL cares. Of course there are other applications of OpenGL, but those are CAD/CAM applications, and not realtime 3D-simulations.

What is your draw distance? Where are you seeing these frame rates? These two items have a big effect on Frame rate. I have a 4400+ and a 6800Ultra 512 and 15-17 FPS is average for most built up sims, I get about 7 or 8 FPS in the welcome area and near 100 in an empty sim.

I hate to say it but a dual Nvidia 8800 GTX SLI and a Quad Core 2 Duo Extreme will still not have super high frame rates and lag is still there. Then again the servers are only running at 45FPS so even though you might be doing 60 FPS on the client, the server is only updating at 45 FPS.

You're not going to get really high framerates in SL for a couple reasons.

The biggest is that everything in SL is uesr-created and dynamic. So the thigns you see cannot be optimized like a game which has static content.

The other is that the rendering engine is kind of old so it lacks the ability to utilize the features that newer video cards use to improve performance.

I have a system that's nearly identical to yours and and those are the numbers I'm seeing.
