Can't get into preview

I downloaded the Second Life 1.10.5.0 Preview for Mac from the SL download page an hour ago. Each time I try to use it I get a "new version of Second Life is available. You must download this update to use the system" message. I click ok to download the "new version" and get the same Second Life 1.10.5.0 Preview that I already had. lol. I've now downloaded 4 copies of 1.10.5.0 preview. Each one says I need to update.

what i also son't understand is, why isn't LL putting on information on the use of this preview... ?

if not anyone can log in there at any time (the main grid is down), wouldn't it be necessary to let the users know whether if they can connect with that or not?

otherwise, they will have tons of unnecessary traffic, because some people (like me) are dl'ding that preview client 2 or 3 times, before they get that it is not possible to connect...

i really don't understand this lack of information - maybe some andvanced user around has more knowledge...

I don't see that message on either the Status page or attempting to log into SL. However, valid point, but I still don't think the preview grid has been open for a while do to the lack of the Preview Feedback/Bug forum.

If its any connection with waht LLabs has to offer. Then we are in DEEP RABBIT POOP since i can`t even get the the stupid client to stop telling me i have the wrong version........HAAH its like my time of the month saying. OPPS but you have not had it yet even tho you just had in last week.............So you are going to have it again

The information is in the Announcements department of the forum. Everyone trying to log into the preview grid will be asked to download the new update, yet will be asked over and over again when trying to log in thereafter. I'd say they really 'tried' to open the preview grid for us atm.

l0l, so u mean this wasn't planned that way? that they tried do give acces by the preview-client, but it simple didn't work??
well, if that is true, i think this whole thing might have gotten even bigger than they can manage...

It might just be a small error somewhere. Yet the lack of confirmation about this issue or any input from a Linden on this makes me sad too. Guess they either don't browse the forums at the moment or don't have the preview grid on high priority right now.

This is rather frustrating, I have to admit. I always go to the preview grid when the main grid is being updated, thisis just wonky. ;-;

well, i have see that of course, but there is no word about their 'try'...

like i said before, according to that annoucement it should be no problem to log in with that preview-client (thats what they've made it for, i guess). but as i see here, im not the only one who can't connect..

The 1.10.5 Build 0 of Siva is a modified version of the previous preview client.

Somebody forgot to change the version numbers in part of the code before compiling.

(i.e. the software inards thinks its still 1.10.4, even though it SAYS 1.10.5 on the outside..so it thinks that the newer version of 1.10.5 should still be downloaded)

Its a simple problem and I am sure that they will have this fixed pretty soon, although since they are so close now, the main grid may be up before they have time to recompile the preview client.

hmm, here it says, the grid is open again, but i still can't connect...

now it says, could not connect - something unexpected went wrong... oO
