I started to get this error today. I have done everything the knowledge base suggested (all ports are open), i have set specific exceptions for my firewall to let the program through, and have even tried with my firewall completely disabled, and still i get told SL cant resolve userserver.agni.lindenlab.com. If i try to ping that address, it replies just fine.

I have no idea what else i can do.

Wow, the only time I've ever got that message is when my connection dies.. and since you're pinging the address and posting here, that's obviously not the problem. About the only thing I can suggest to you is to try re-downloading the client software. Perhaps there's a bad file in your current installation.

I know of a user with a Netgear router/dsl-modem which has a problem with SL (yes, the router with SL, not the other way around) where it is necessary to turn off the device to get into SL again.

You maybe also want to try turning off your software firewall (if you use it), my sister had a bitch getting on SL a while ago.... turned out it was that no good XP firewall that was blocking her out.

Firewalls can be configured to allow a program. The problem happens when the program has a lot of unidentified files that keep changing all the time whenever there is an update, that the firewall does not recognize.

A firewall is important to have running, so turning it off, is not really a solution.

The problem can also be a corruption in the program so uninstall and reinstall can help.
